Tonight I am continuing with the series of photos that I shot along Cub Run last Saturday. I really like the way the trees form an umbrella along this creek. I see many views of Cub and Bull Run as I drive to work and they all have great leading lines with nice arching trees that frame the shore line and the wild flowers along the banks. For this image, I used a slightly longer exposure time in the brackets to try and create the cotton like look on the waves. This creek was actually moving along pretty well and almost succeeded in knocking me over when I was framing my shots.

I am getting ever closer to my trip to Savannah and Jekyll Island. I am going to meet up with friends (Kevin and Steve) from a couple of the RV workshops that we attended and I am looking forward to the opportunity to shoot and unwind. (Not that I ever get too stress about anything...) Cheers.

Last weekend I spent most of Saturday morning along Cub Run. It was very warm for a spring morning and I felt that wading was in order. It was so warm that I was able to get a way with just water shoes and shorts - no dry pants were needed. I worked the main part of the creek just where it meets the main trail. I really like this section of the stream and when I saw how well these trees mimicked the shape of the waves I though it might make an interesting image. This shot was taken a little late in the morning - probably around 11:30 or so. There are many opportunities to shoot the blue bells with back lighting along this creek and I think I will return next year and have another try at this lovely section of Cub Run. Cheers.

This morning I spent earth day (morning) wandering through the woods in search of the elusive mist on the stream. The forecast was for a cool morning and fog. As I drove to the park I passed through several nice sections of mist and fog in the trees but when I reached my destination there was only a hint of mist around. But to me a hint was just enough to soften the edges of the stream and the blue bells on the banks.

The birds were in full song this morning and I was treated to a red fox, white tail deer, wood pecker's, herons, ducks and more. I am going to follow Craig Tanners lead and start to record companion audio for my pictures.

The beautiful music of nature combined with the azure flowers and the beautiful reflections made for an incredible start to the day. Cheers.

As I sit here and tweak another urban distress (image) I can't help but wonder what is triggered in my subconscious that makes me like these images so much. After all, grunge images are where the post processing truly becomes totally subjective. I tweak on the image until I feel an internal excitement about what I see on the screen. It is almost as if experincing a new creation - something that has never been seen before. And the beauty of all this (or the lack there of) is that all that matters here is that the image is different, exciting, bizzare (surreal). A step away from reallity that gives you a chance to take a break from trying to copy the world around you, but instead create your own. Not everybody's cup of tea but I drink it. Cheers.

PS - Thanks again to Don Rosenberger! Also, it was a pleasure to shoot with: Don, Karen, Corey, Glen and Roger.
