So I am feel a lot better today - the creepy feeling is long gone and I am ready to go back. I learned a lot from this first shoot and I think I understand the lighting in the building better. This is one of the rooms in the main building (I need to learn the names). I thought the view of the clouds out of the window was pretty nice. I am looking forward to heading back soon. Cheers.

With the weather man forecasting a rainy overcast day I planned to shoot at Henryton today. Shooting this location turned out to be one of the spookiest days that I have had in along time. It felt like I was in a dream the whole time that I was inside. There are some pretty-long and dark halls that make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. It was great fun! Most of the shots that I took depict doorways and windows to another life time. A history that must have held pain and isolation for some and help and relief for others. I met some folks while I was there who were studying paranormal activity. (Or were they really there?) They told me stories of strong paranormal activities and in particular from the area that I had just been shooting. Its a weird feeling for sure and I am not sure how long it will take to get over it. A strange and exciting day. Next time I will not go alone. Cheers.

I spent today shooting a High School Rowing Regatta (The Polar Bear Regata) on the Occoquan and brought home over 1600 frames to sort through. My first pass through the images told me that I have a long way to go before I can be confident shooting those events. On the upside I now know what not to do.... When I was off loading the cards to my laptop I found these two images which I never took off of one of the cards. I liked them better than the rowing shots so I decided to post them. Hopefully, I will be able to find a couple of frames in the rowing gallery that will be worth posting. Maybe I need to try some creative cropping. Cheers.

This afternoon I took a trip downtown to scout the Cherry Blossoms. Not much happening with the blossoms yet, but there was still plenty of things to see. The Jefferson Memorial offered a great foreground for the setting sun. I wound up playing hide and seek with the tripod police. Apparently you are not supposed to use a tripod in the memorials. Who knew? Not sure why they don't like those things, but I need to find out why. Perhaps there is a way to get a media pass. I sure would like a chance to shoot some of the memorials with a steady base (and a clear conscience). Cheers.
