When I first saw this image, I thought "Mad Science". I don't mean for the pun to apply here. You see, this image was taking at Forest Haven a former asylum that was eventually closed due to alleged misconduct. Visiting this location was sobering and really made you think about the residents of this home for the unfortunate, which operated from the mid 1920's until the early 1990's. This shot was taken in the main building in a room that is next to the X-Ray facility.

There were so many buildings to explore and much of the time I could not stop visualizing the history of this location. After a while it got to the point that Don and I had all that we could take of the grunge. Fortunately, this was offset by mother nature when we decided to explore a near by wildlife area on the way home and were treated to a show by three baby foxes.

Cheers.

Work was crazy this week so bad in fact that I had not even had a chance to think about shooting. (Well I guess that is not totally true, because my trip tomorrow with my friend Don was hashed out earlier in the week.) Anyway, I had to work part of the day today as well (Saturday) which left me longing for some time alone with my camera. I finally just had to get outside so I headed to the local park to shoot the sunset.

I wound up going back to one of my favorite spots that I shot during the winter months. This time the approach was actually much more difficult. I did not realize that during the frozen winter months that I was actually crossing some pretty swampy sections and with the grasses now almost six feet tall it was a bit of a challenge to cross.

All of the deer were still there. Still paranoid even though I presented my best demeanor. Perhaps when I carry my tripod on my shoulder it bares to much of a resemblance to the cold hard steel of a gun. Not sure, but I always get a great show as they bound off into the distance. I hope to find some fawns out here soon. Today I counted around 50 deer and that is probably a low estimate. Surely one or two them will be bringing another deer into the world soon.

Anyway it was great getting out in the field today even if the light and sky were partly cooperating. Cheers.
