When I first saw this image, I thought "Mad Science". I don't mean for the pun to apply here. You see, this image was taking at Forest Haven a former asylum that was eventually closed due to alleged misconduct. Visiting this location was sobering and really made you think about the residents of this home for the unfortunate, which operated from the mid 1920's until the early 1990's. This shot was taken in the main building in a room that is next to the X-Ray facility. There were so many buildings to explore and much of the time I could not stop visualizing the history of this location. After a while it got to the point that Don and I had all that we could take of the grunge. Fortunately, this was offset by mother nature when we decided to explore a near by wildlife area on the way home and were treated to a show by three baby foxes. Cheers. |
